The Shrine of Hazrat Shah Jalal
Even today, more than six hundred years after the death of Saint Hazrat Shah Jalal, the shrine is visited by innumerable devotees of every caste and creed, who make the journey from far away places. Legend says, the great saint who came from Delhi to preach Islam, defeated the then Hindu Raja (king) Gour Gobinda. He transformed the witchcraft followers of the Raja into catfishes which are still alive in the tank adjacent to the shrine Swords. The holy Quran and the robes of the holy saint are still preserved in the shrine.

Sree Chaitanya Dev Temple
Sree Chaitanya Dev Temple in Sylhet a 500 year old renowned temple and primary attractions for tourist in Golapganj Upazila Sylhet districts.It is situated at a distance of 45 kilometers from the heart of the town Sylhet. Each year on the full moon day of Falgun, a moth in the Bengali calendar a fair is organized in the premises of the Temple of Sri Chaitanya Dev. The month of Phalgun is mainly the month of March and sometimes even the month of February according to the English calendar. The fair which is organized every year on the particular date is very bright and rich with thousands of Hindu devotees pouring in not only from home but also from abroad. |

Gour Gobinda Fort

Jointapur Rajbari
Jaintiapur is only 5 km. from Jaflong. Jointapur was the capital of Jainta Kingdome at 18th century. Jainta Rajbari was the palace of Kings of Jainta, it’s just adjacent of Jainta Bazar. Though the condition of this kings palace is already damaged enormously but a huge number of tourists visit here due to the historical background of Jainta Kingdom. A lots of picnic parties goes to Jaintapur forests and also other areas of Jaflong, Sripur and Tamabil to enjoy a full day in the nature. So if you are planning to visit Jaflong you must cover up all these places at a time and by the evening you come back to Sylhet for your night stay.

Sripur
Sripur is another beautiful tourist spot where you can see the waterfall with great tide falling form the hills. Besides the enchanting views of the area, one can also have a glimpse of the waterfalls across the border of India. Very Big stones sometimes are coming in this waterfall in Sripur. After completion of visiting Jaflong and Tamabil you must visit Sripur on the way to go back to Sylhet. Jaflong
Jaflong is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Sylhet division. It's about 60 km far from Sylhet town and takes two hours drive to reach there. Jaflong is also a scenic spot nearby amidst tea gardens and rate beauty of rolling stones from hills. It is situated besides the river Peain in the lap of Hill Khashia. The Mari river is coming from the great Himalayas of India, which bringing million tons of stone boulders with its tide. You can watch the stone collection from the river in Jaflong as well as you can enjoy the boating in the river Mari. Tamabil
Situated amidst splendid panorama, Tamabil is a border outpost on Sylhet-Shilong Roadabout 55 km. away from Sylhet town. Srimongal is the place of tea gardens, hills and forest areas on the hills. Within your eyesight you will find green throughout. Madhobkunda Waterfall
From Kulaura rail station its about one hour journey by microbus to Madhabkunda. The journey to Madhabkunda itself is exotic. On the way you can see the greenish beauty of tea garden, the hills and the zigzag road through the hills will increase the joy of your journey. In Madhabkunda you will see the great waterfall - falls of million tons of water form 200ft. height. Big bolder of stones and the black stones in giving a shape of care in Madhabkundu. Lawacherra Rain Forest
Lawacherra Rain Forestis one of the important & well-reserved forests inBangladesh. Here visitor may see gibbons swimming through the trees and birds like bee-eater owls parrot. Tanguar Haor
Tanguar Haor, located in the district of Sunamganj in the north-eastern part ofBangladesh, is a unique wetland ecosystem of national and international importance covering about 10,000 hectares. It provides subsistence and livelihoods to more then 40,000 people living in 46 villages situated in its periphery. The Government has declared Tanguar Haor as an Ecologically Critical Area (ECA) in 1999 understanding its critical condition due to overexploitation of natural resource. In 2000, the Hoar basin was also declared as the country's second Ramsar site-wetland of international importance. With this declaration, the Government of Bangladesh is committed to preserve its natural resources and have taken several steps for protection of this wetland. SHAH Paran's Dargah
This is the Hazrat SHAH Paran's Dargah in Sylhet.Hazrat Shah Paran was the nephew of Hazrat Shah Jalal who preached Islam in Sylhet. Shah Paran's Mazaar (shrine) is located in the outskirts of Sylhet town, in Major Tilla. Legends says that Shah Paran was very high tempered and would curse people of evil nature and the curse would come true. To save the general people from his wrath, Shah Jalal ordered him out of the city area. |

Lala Khal
This astonishing place 'Lalakhal' is located at Jaintiapur in Sylhet. The name of the river is 'Sari' which is famous for its high-quality sand for construction. This place has been inapproachable for a long time because of unavailability of vehicles. Still, if boats are unavailable, after reaching 'Sarighat' by bus (around 30 KM from Sylhet Metropolitan city), you have to make that 8 KM road by walking!. After reaching that place you must be flabbergasted by watching the greenish-blue water, hilly tracks,tea-gardens & the greenery.Besides, there are some mysterious holes in the river which look more 'Martian' than earthly! |

Clock of Ali Amjad
Ali Amjad's* clock is a popular attraction of Sylhet City. Situated on the Northern bank of the Surma river at Chandnighat, down left to another most 'talk-about' subject - the Kean Bridge. This is the oldest and first clock tower of Bangladesh, as well as a singular genre. Ali Amjad Khan, a Nawab of Prithimpassa, built this tower. At far sight, one can easily presume it as a church, because of its structure. I wonder what was the color of corrugated sheets at the early days. I find the architecture of it is also interesting Tower is standing one an octagonal base, clock chamber is rectangular and lastly the crest of tower is a triangular pyramid. |

Keane Bridge
The Keane Bridge is a notable landmark of Sylhet city, Bangladesh. Shahi Eidgah
The Shahi Eidgah is situated on a hillock at the south-eastern end of Sylhet city. There are twenty steps of stairs to the Shahi Eidgah. The area is surrounded by encircling wall. The main mihrab is on the central position of Qibal wall and it is built through a half dome. The central mihrab has some other subsidiary mihrabs on either side. The wall has two octagonal corner towers with kiosk which make the structure attractive. The Eidgah has three entrances and in front of this picturesque structure there is a tank for ablution. the Shahi Eidgah was built by the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb in the 17th century. It is not protected building and later renovated by local people. It looks like a grade fort but is actually meant for Eid congregations, the two biggest Muslim festivals.
